I am passionate about both sailing and science, and for as long as I can remember, I have tried to combine these two interests. One of my recent projects is the design and construction of an autonomous sailing vessel as a proof of concept for a low-cost, emission-free mode of transportation.
I graduated with a BSc degree in Yacht Design from the West Pomeranian University of Technology in 2024. I am currently pursuing an MSc degree in Electronics and Telecommunications at the Silesian University of Technology.
I am also a member of several student research groups and organizations, including Silesian Aerospace Technologies and Trådstudio.
I am a certified sailing yacht skipper, qualified to command sailing yachts up to 18 m LOA. I am also a sailing instructor and a certified camp counselor.
My skills and experience cover a wide range of fields, including electronics, radio communication, sailing, FDM and SLA 3D printing, retro photography, and skiing.
I speak communicative English, as well as some German and Russian.
The main costs in maritime transport are fuel and crew labor. Although maritime transport is the most efficient form of transportation, it is still responsible for around 3% of global CO2 emissions and a significant share of global methane emissions. Operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions could be reduced by using sails connected to an automated steering system. Our project focuses on developing a model of an autonomous sailing vessel capable of travelling independently from point A to point B, without any kind of motorized propulsion system.
Renovation of a 55-year-old Schelin Cruiser yawl.
The first Schelin Cruiser was built in 1964 out of wood. Ours is hull no. 16, built in 1971, and she is made of GRP. Her rig was later changed to a yawl. She used to be a racer-cruiser - the plaques still fixed in the saloon tell the story of her starts in many Swedish regattas.
Now, after all these years, we want to restore her to her former glory.
If you want to collaborate on a project, talk about sailing, engineering, photography, or just say hi - feel free to get in touch.
